Dear Dr. Hassan,
Thank you for this article, and for bringing our good old memories to one single platform. Dissa Sir is one of a kind. His approach to students who have both good and bad times. Some of his notable phrases like “One donkey at a time” and other phrases would reflect in the minds of many students, no doubt. He was not only my Class Teacher and Maths Teacher, but a good mentor and a friend afterwards too. God Almighty bless his soul. Amen

Dear Dr Hassan
I sincerely wish I could write what I want about Mr. Dissanayake. I know it is impossible for me to. You Dr. Hassan have done justice to his work. I am a living example of how good a teacher could be. Turning an impossible to possible. I have his authority to use few ” technical” words that I would not use here. He got me a C from a 0
Thank you Dr. Hassan Hameed
The article reflects the true picture of Mr. Disanayaka. He is the best teacher I know. He respected every student. He was so keen to pass the knowledge to students and happy see the progress of his students. He and his family treated me as a family member and he has maintained contact until he fell ill. He was very happy to meet and see the success of his students.

Mr. Dissanayake was a great teacher, wonderful person and a very understanding adviser. He was our teacher for Mathematics and Technical Drawing in Grades 8, 9 and 10 in the years 1970 to 1972. He knew each of his students with their strengths and weaknesses but never made anyone uncomfortable. With his friendly shots on our shoulders, he made sure that we all were kept awake and attentive from beginning to end of his periods. He was very nice, helpful and friendly when we met any time at any place after we left school. May God bless his soul with eternal peace in Heaven.
He use to call me “leader ship quality”when i got a chance to say a word in assembly. The great and the best teacher ever had.and its a big loss to our school.
Dear Dr. Hassan
I do certainly agree with what has been said about my most loving TEACHER. He certainly is the best. I know him as my TEACHER , a staff, a friend and also as an advisor.
I love the feeling when pats on my back in his usual way. All students of our Bach consider him the best and not the second best TEACHER.
thanks Hassan for the great article. it’s a treasure we need to keep it. thanks again.
I just saw the article.
They don’t make them like that anymore. I hated maths but at least with Mr. Disa, I didn’t feel stupid. He never called you out or made you embarrassed. He loved the subject as much as he loved us and therefore made sure we didn’t hate the subject.
He will always by my class teacher. Mentor. Inspiration and the nostalgia that reminds me of the vibrant Majeedhiyya air on balmy mornings when the world wasn’t what it is today.
Mr. Dissanayaka, wow! Will I ever forget him? No, never, first of all he never gave me his friendly shot despite me trying various ways, even though I was one of those mouse type student .He will be like almost there but will tell me, ” No I am not going to slap you, because your two brother wajeehs left school without being slapped”. Hehe so I left after my O’level without experiencing his friendly shot. That’s sad. But yes he is such a great teacher who knows how to relate to each & every student.
Dear Dr. Hameed.
There is not a single sentence, word or a letter that I would disagree in this article . May be I would be wrong if I say who I am in because of what Mr. Dissanayake made out of me” I am one student who had received more then a ” FAIR ” share of his friendly Shot.
One day when we were in Mr.Disa class, we were told that one of our classmates had died in his sleep. He sat on his chair that day and wept like a father who has lost his dear child. Such was his relationship with his students. Feared bcoz of his “friendly slap” but respected by all.
Disa Sir was someone you cannot forget easily. He instruction are short and clear. Explanation are easy to understand. My class teacher of grade 10, always encourage to try harder, which we did. Had previledged to work as AP of Majeediyya with him in 1999 and 2000.

I really admire him when I was in grade 10. He is one of the teachers who build the foundation on which I am standing today.

Friends please let me have the name s of these teachers
Thank you
He was well renowned by his students but I wonder if there was a scheme by the school that allowed a certain students to be included in his class .
One day when we were in Mr.Disa class, we were told that one of our classmates had died in his sleep. He sat on his chair that day and wept like a father who has lost his dear child. Such was his relationship with his students. Feared bcoz of his “friendly slap” but respected by all.

I remember that day. Good teacher.
